This Privacy Policy describes how STEMBridge Stats ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and handles information when you visit and use our website located at stembridgestats.com. Please read this policy carefully before using the platform. By accessing or using STEMBridge Stats, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Who We Are
STEMBridge Stats is a free, educational statistics platform designed for Class 9–12 students. The platform provides curriculum-aligned calculators, step-by-step working tools, and data visualisation utilities for students following FBISE, CBSE, IGCSE, O-Levels, A-Levels, and IB Mathematics syllabi. We are not affiliated with any of these examining boards.
If you have questions about this policy or our data practices, you can reach us through the Contact page.
2. Information We Collect
Calculator and Tool Usage
All calculations performed on STEMBridge Stats run entirely within your web browser using JavaScript. When you enter a dataset into any of our tools — whether for mean, standard deviation, frequency tables, probability, or any other calculator — that data is processed locally on your device. It is never transmitted to our servers, and we never receive, store, or have access to any data you enter into our tools.
Browser Storage
We store one item in your browser's localStorage:
your light or dark mode preference, saved under the key
sb-theme. This value exists only on your device and
is never sent to any server. You can clear it at any time by
clearing your browser's local storage through your browser
settings.
Contact Form Submissions
If you submit a message through our Contact page, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not add contact form submitters to any mailing list, and we do not share this information with any third party for marketing or commercial purposes.
Analytics
We may collect anonymised, aggregated usage data — such as page view counts and which tools are used most frequently — to help us understand how to improve the platform. Where analytics are in use, they do not collect personally identifiable information and do not set cookies that track you across other websites.
3. Cookies
STEMBridge Stats does not use tracking cookies or advertising
cookies. The only browser-side storage we use is
localStorage for your theme preference, as described
above. This is not a cookie and does not involve any server
communication.
If third-party advertising is displayed on the platform (see Section 5), those ad networks may set their own cookies in accordance with their own privacy policies. You can manage or block these through your browser settings or a privacy extension.
4. How We Use Information
We use the limited information we collect for the following purposes:
- To respond to messages submitted through the Contact form
- To remember your display preference (light or dark mode) between visits
- To understand which tools and pages are most useful, using anonymised data only
- To maintain and improve the accuracy and performance of the platform
We do not use any collected information for automated decision-making, profiling, or targeted advertising based on your behaviour on this site.
5. Third-Party Services
STEMBridge Stats loads resources from a small number of third-party providers. Each is listed below along with the nature of their involvement.
- Google Fonts — we use Google Fonts to serve the typefaces used across the site. When your browser loads a page, it makes a request to Google's servers to retrieve these fonts. Google may log this request. For details, refer to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Chart.js — some of our data visualisation tools use Chart.js, a JavaScript charting library. Where it is loaded from a CDN, a network request is made to that CDN. No personal data is transmitted as part of this request.
- Google AdSense — we display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings. For more information, refer to Google's advertising policies.
We do not sell personal data to any third party. We do not share contact form information with any third party for commercial purposes.
6. Google AdSense and Advertising
STEMBridge Stats uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and other sites on the internet.
You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
7. Children's Privacy
STEMBridge Stats is an educational platform intended for use by secondary school students, which includes users under the age of 18. We take the privacy of young users seriously. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and our tools are designed specifically to avoid requiring any personal data to function.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has submitted personal information to us — for example through the Contact form — please reach out via our Contact page and we will delete that information promptly upon verification.
8. Data Security
Because we collect minimal personal data, our security obligations are correspondingly limited. Any information submitted through our Contact form is transmitted over HTTPS, meaning the connection between your browser and our server is encrypted. We do not store passwords, payment card numbers, government identification numbers, or any other category of sensitive personal data.
No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we take reasonable steps to protect the limited information we receive, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding personal data that we hold about you. These may include the right to:
- Request access to personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate personal data
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Object to or request restriction of certain processing activities
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us through the Contact page with the subject line "Privacy Request". We will respond within 30 days. Please note that because we collect very little personal data, we may not hold any information about you beyond a contact form submission, if you have made one.
10. Links to Other Websites
This website may contain links to external websites, such as curriculum board resources or reference documentation. Once you click a link and leave STEMBridge Stats, this Privacy Policy no longer applies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third-party website and encourage you to review their privacy policies independently.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or the services we offer. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of STEMBridge Stats after any changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
12. Contact
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests relating to this Privacy Policy or the way we handle data, please contact us through our Contact page. We will do our best to respond promptly and transparently.
